Things to remember when buying kitchen ceramic floor tile
Friday, May 27th, 2011When you choose ceramic tiles as your kitchen floor, you have to remember some important things about it. First thing to consider is your budget. Ceramic tile costs from a dollar to $10. The factors affecting the price are the shape, size, design, thickness, texture, color and durability. You almost have unlimited selection when talking about the size, color, texture and style. However, due to so many available selections, you will find it hard to choose the right kitchen ceramic floor tile.
Ceramic tiles are characterized by its porous material; you will need a sealant or a glaze. Application of glaze would permit the tile to acquire hard surface and leave it in its natural color. You can add pigments to the glaze to give the tiles a new color. When you buy ceramic tiles, always leave room for space or buy extra tiles.
If you want the most durable tile, look for Grade V ceramic tiles; however, make sure to pay the price. If you want the least durable, the grade I is the choice. For kitchen floors, a grade iii ceramic tile is recommended, but if you want tiles that are scratch, fire, water resistant, go for the glazed ceramic tiles. They are also easy to maintain.
